SeaWorld San Diego Reopens Again in February

As of February 6, 2021, SeaWorld San Diego is reopening to the public. It is opening as an accredited zoo under California’s new rules that allow zoos and aquariums to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Guests can enjoy the excitement of viewing several physically distant outdoor exhibits, including bat rays, bamboo sharks, dolphins, sea otters, turtles, and a lot more. Educational presentations will also be part of the reopening as well. Guests can explore the full range of the park’s exhibits and educational programming.

Adding a New Presentation: Rescue Tails!

SeaWorld San Diego is also introducing a new presentation, Rescue Tails. This presentation provides information about SeaWorld’s Conservation Ambassadors and rescue efforts. The show is housed in the Nautilus Amphitheater, with physically distant seating.

Rescue Tails highlights SeaWorld’s ongoing commitment to animal care and rescue, and it conveys information about animal health to guests. In this presentation, guests will get to see rescued animals, including primates, reptiles, and birds of prey. They will hear their unique stories and how SeaWorld has impacted these animals’ lives.

Enhanced Safety Protocols Enable San Diego SeaWorld to Open Safely

To promote the health and safety of guests, SeaWorld San Diego has increased protocols for regular cleaning and sanitizing. Physical distancing, temperature screenings, and face-covering requirements also are being enforced.

SeaWorld San Diego requires that guests purchase tickets online ahead of coming to the park to ensure capacity limitations are respected. Each ticket gives guests access to all outdoor exhibits in the park.

Food and drinks will be available at SeaWorld San Diego as well. Precautions are being taken to enhance safety when serving food, drinks, snacks and alcoholic beverages. The park includes  extensive outdoor seating, so guests can eat and drink while socially distancing and staying safe.

A Winter Fun Destination

The SeaWorld Management Team is led by SeaWorld interim CEO, Marc Swanson, and Founder and Managing Partner at Hill Path Capital and SeaWorld Entertainment Inc.’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Scott Ross. The Management team has continued its unwavering commitment to the safety of park guests, employees, and animals in their care. Thus, they have worked to create memorable experiences that are simultaneously safe, and adhere to all safety protocols.
