The Harry Potter Wonders

Harry Potter is one of the most known fiction stories that even adults can enjoy. Its story has been told in books and in movies for years now and it still continues to get attention. What really lies in that story and what are some symbolisms represented? Care to find out?

Together with us, enter into the rabbit hole of Harry Potter, and let’s find out the deeper meaning of their wands!

The wands of the characters of Harry Potter come from the Ollivander’s Wand Shop that was established around 382 B.C. founded by a family of wandmakers in England. The wands are known to choose the wizard of their liking according to their skills and personality.

First, let’s start with a wise and powerful woman named Hermione. Hermione is characterized by her great personality and intellect. Her wand is made out of Vind wood that represents a bold personality and her pursuit for a greater purpose.

Similar to what she is described in the books and in the movies, Hermione is goal-driven and can eloquently express herself.

Then, we have Ron Weasley, who’s known for his loyalty and goofiness. Ron loves adventure as much as Harry does, he is optimistic and supportive. Ron Weasley possesses the wand made out of willow wood, which, described that its wizard has some aspects of insecurity but chooses the wizard that the wand believes has a long way to go and is capable of great things, which also perfectly describes Ron Weasley.

Third, we have Draco Malfoy, who is known to be an antagonist in everything Harry does. His wand is made out of Hawthorne wood that is defined by a conflicting nature possessing healing powers but is also vulnerable to cursing.

This describes Draco Malfoy in a way that he is cunning and intelligent but also a spiteful character who is fond of making fun of others and bullying them. He is also known for his cowardly behavior to hide behind his family and friends when things start to go out of hand.

Next, we have one of the most notable yet infamous characters in Harry Potter, Voldemort. His wand is made out of Yew wood, these wands represent the dark and notorious owners.

Yew is also known for its poisonous qualities; every part of this tree is fatal to humans even by touch. Voldemort is also known for his powerful yet distant nature. After all, he is the villain of the story and he perfectly fits the characteristics of ruthlessness and the lack of remorse.

Lastly, Harry Potter, Harry’s wand is made out of Holly wood. It signifies luck and protectiveness. It is said that Holly woods choose owners that are risk-takers and spirited. These wands are also described as “nice and supple.”

As similar to the personality of Harry, he is kind and empathetic, he goes out of his way to protect the people he cares about. Harry is also a curious wizard, their adventures and discoveries were purely out of his willingness to do them and were backed up by the supportive nature of his friends.

The wands of these characters are unique and most rare, even the combinations of the wood and the core are like no other for some character! The wands choose the wizard rather than the other way around. That is why, every character has a special bond with it, and has different experiences.
